Overview
"HSK" Series adhesive lined cross-linked polyolefin heat shrinkable tubing is designed for applications up to 600 volts, and provides excellent sealing protection for splices, connections, and jacket repairs. The good abrasion resistance characteristics of this tubing provide excellent mechanical protection. When heated above 120 Degrees C (250 Degrees F) the tubing SHRINKS RAPIDLY TO A SKIN TIGHT FIT, forcing the melted adhesive to flow forming a flexible bond. Upon cooling the adhesive solidifies, forming a permanent, non-drying flexible and waterproof barrier DESIGNED FOR THE NEW SMALLER O.D. LEAD WIRES being used on submersible pump motors.
With a 4:1 shrink ratio the tubing shrinks unrestricted to 25% of its original diameter. The recovered wall thickness of the tubing is proportional to the degree of recovery (approx. 0.043" /1.1 mm when fully recovered). NOTE: This tubing will shrink to its fully recovered diameter in 25-30 seconds. Time will vary depending on job site conditions and the heat source that is used.
